Map shipping methods & carrier names (important for 3PL & ERP)

This feature ensures that your TikTok Shop orders will have the correct shipping methods and tracking numbers across platforms

If you have multiple shipping options set up in your Shopify and Amazon stores, it may be important to assign your TikTok Shop orders to the correct shipping method in your fulfillment process.

And if your business uses a 3PL partner or an ERP system to process orders, the shipping methods mapping feature ensures that all your TikTok Shop orders have the correct shipping method when they flow into your 3PL or ERP system.

ShoppeDance VeriSync has two features that ensure your eCommerce fulfillment flow works with TikTok Shop correctly and effortlessly, they are: Shipping methods mapping and Carrier name mapping.

Important Note:

Failure to map the carrier name correctly may result in not updating the order fulfillment status and order tracking number to TikTok Shop. This can lead to cancelled or unpaid orders. It is the seller’s sole responsibility to comply with TikTok Shop fulfillment standards.


Set up carrier name mapping for order tracking

In order for TikTok Shop to get the accurate update on order shipping progress, it requires the correct tracking number and the corresponding shipping carriers.

Currently, TikTok Shop only accepts major shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL ECommerce, Amazon Logistics, AxleHire, Better Trucks, Deliver-it, GLS US, Lasership, Lone Star Overnight, Ontrac, Spee-Dee Delivery, TForce, OSM Worldwide, Global Parcel Service (GPS), and Wizmo. (See lastest updates here) TikTok requires the names of the carriers to be exact shown as above to be recognized by TikTok's system.

Thus, you need to make sure the shipping carriers that you submit are in the format that TikTok Shop accept and recognize. Fortunately, you can use the Carrier name mapping feature in ShoppeDance VeriSync to meet this requirement.

Here are some examples of unaccepted shipping carrier names and what you should map them to:

How to set up carrier name mapping?

To customize your inventory, please go to your ShoppeDance VeriSync dashboard > Settings > Fulfillment sync rules > Carrier name mapping.

Click "+ Add mapping." In the dropdown menu, select a shipping carrier or create a new one.

Then, under TikTok Shop Shipping provider, select a shipping carrier name that TikTok Shop accepts. Please make sure the shipping carrier you select correspond correct.

Now, you've successfully mapped your carrier names. From now on, ShoppeDance will use the accepted TikTok Shipping carrier names when sending your order tracking information to TikTok Shop.

What if your 3PL uses multiple shipping carriers?

In most situations, your 3PL will likely have a different code for each shipping service they use. If that’s the case, ask your 3PL for a list of carrier codes corresponding to the shipping carrier companies. Just map them accordingly in ShoppeDance.

In the rare event that your 3PL uses a generic code for all shipping services (such as LaserShip):

  • Verify if this 3PL is already supported by TikTok Shop as a shipping provider. If it’s supported, no mapping is needed.

  • If your 3PL is not supported, please contact your 3PL for further assistance.


Common Error: Missing Shipping Carrier Name

If you (or your warehouse or 3PL) submit shipping information without carrier names, you may encounter the following error message:

"TikTok Shop error: TikTok Shop does not support the carrier: ' '. You can try to modify the mapping relationship in ShoppeDance settings"

TikTok requires both a carrier name and a tracking number to verify the shipping progress of a package. Missing the carrier name may result in TikTok being unable to track shipping progress, which could even lead to auto-cancellation of orders.

How to Add the Missing Shipping Carrier Name

Solution #1: Update via Shopify Dashboard

Go to your Shopify dashboard and find the corresponding order, click "Edit tracking" and add the shipping carrier name.

Solution #2: Use Carrier Name Mapping in ShoppeDance Settings

Go to the carrier name mapping feature in ShoppeDance settings. Map “NULL” or “other” to a carrier name that TikTok accepts.

  • NULL: This indicates no value in the shipping carrier field in Shopify.

  • other: Sometimes, when the shipping carrier field is blank, Shopify may automatically add “other” as the default value.

Once the carrier names are added, refresh your orders to ensure TikTok can receive the data and properly track your shipments.


Shipping methods mapping (important for 3PL & ERP)

There are three shipping options that you can offer on TikTok Shop under seller shipping, they are Free Economy, Standard Shipping, and Express Shipping.

You can map one or multiple shipping options that you offer on TikTok Shop to your existing shipping methods on Shopify and Amazon. When your TikTok Shop order is sent to your Shopify or Amazon store, they would be assigned the corresponding shipping methods.

How to set up shipping methods mapping?

To customize your inventory, please go to your ShoppeDance VeriSync dashboard > Settings > Order sync rules > Shipping method mapping.

Click "+ Add mapping." In the dropdown menu, select the TikTok Shop shipping option that you've previously set on TikTok Shop seller center.

If you don't remember your setting in seller center, please go to your TikTok Shop seller center, Orders > Shipping Templates, or use the following link: https://seller-us.tiktok.com/logistics/shipping-template

Then, under Shopify/Amazon shipping method, select a shipping method option. Our system would mirror the shipping setting that you have in your Shopify Amazon store.


If you don't see the correct Shopify shipping method settings, please make sure your Shopify shipping options are configured similarly to the screenshot below.
